Project Announcements!

Might as well go ahead and announce some projects on here.

Hitsugi no Chaika, Ichirou Sakaki (12 volumes)

First off, Hitsugi no Chaika will be continuing. For now, it’s on NanoDesu, but it may migrate over here at some point. So I haven’t quit that, rest assured.

Zaregoto Series Finale: Nekosogi Radical, NISIOISIN (volumes 7-9, 3 volumes)

Next, the long-awaited conclusion to the Zaregoto series by NISIOISIN, Nekosogi Radical. SuiminChuudoku did a great job with volumes 3-5, but volume 6 remains incomplete. I had heard he wanted someone else to continue the project (though I’m not sure how true it is), but I am doing this translation on the basis that one day he finishes 6. You absolutely should not read volumes 7-9 before 6 if you care about spoilers at all; however, I wanted to go ahead and get this out before it becomes officially translated, in hopes that someday people will want to read it.

Shin Honkaku Mahou Shoujo Risuka, NISIOISIN (3 volumes)

The other project I’ll be juggling at this time is something else that was officially translated a while ago by Andrew Cunningham but was never finished, as it was only an excerpt: Shin Honkaku Mahou Shoujo Risuka, also by NISIOISIN. Truthfully, I’m actually farther along on this project, but it needs to be reworked a bit more before I release it. This series is also considerably shorter at only 3 volumes. For this project, I have intentionally avoided reading Cunningham’s translation lest it influence my own in any way.

NISIOSIN is a difficult read and even more difficult to translate, and I’m sure I’ll make a few mistakes along the way, but my goal is to deliver some of his more obscure works in English at last. To that end, I will try my best! 🙂
